Clinical oncology is concerned with how radiotherapy and chemotherapy are used to treat patients with cancer. In addition, clinical oncologists collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team that chooses the best course of action by taking into account a number of variables, such as the type of cancer, its stage relative to the patient's general health, and the location of the tumour. They then weigh the advantages and drawbacks of various treatments before choosing one that is appropriate for them.
